Artist Statement

My practice uses printmaking; including silkscreen, monotype, etching, and relief to explore intersections of identity, environment, and society. My work begins through cycles of reflection, research, and community engagement, forming an ongoing process through which I make sense of personal contradiction and the social structures I inhabit. I often use my body and memory as entry points, integrating lived experience with broader patterns observed in the Western regions of the United States.

My approach to making is non-linear and intuitive, allowing for a reciprocal relationship between myself and the material. I produce work in abundance, understanding that only a portion of each body of prints will fully align with my intentions at a given moment. Other works are archived for future expansion, reconsideration, or theoretical use. Through this generous accumulation of material and scale, I seek to push the limits of printmaking while honoring its historical role as a record of the present.
