WARRIOR FEMININE

In this series I use the monotype method showing woman in action against a backdrop of traditional Filipino warrior textile patterns, Calderilla. Figures swirl to make up circular patterns or activate the space facing different directions. In the later prints, I incorporate the Lingligo - a indigenous jewelry and symbol of creative energy.

Interesting organic shapes unexpectedly appeared within the silhouettes of the figures, adding a interesting nuance to the image.

The Linglingo is worn as a type of earring in certain regions of the Philippines.
